The Public Theater has revealed the 10 new playwrights have been selected for the 2023-2025 Emerging Writers Group.

Magic Theatre has announced the titles and dates for the Company’s upcoming in-person 2021-2022 season. Early 2022 will feature the long-delayed World Premiere of Miranda Rose Hall’s THE KIND ONES (Feb 2 – 20, 2022*), followed by the World Premiere of Sam Chanse’s MONUMENT, OR FOUR SISTERS (A SLOTH PLAY) which will perform May 11– June 5, 2022*. 

Now announcing plans for The Restart Season (2021-2022), the Realm's 15th anniversary season, the organization expands on what it's learned across this last year. The Playwrights Realm will forgo productions for a host of resources designed to help make this restart one in which artists and audiences are taken care of first.

While the theater field remains uncertain yet cautiously optimistic that 2021 will see a return to in-person performances, there is no uncertainty around the systemic inequalities that have been exposed and amplified during the pandemic. Pre-pandemic 'business as usual' will not be enough when theaters open their doors again.

NAATCO, today announced that the company has commissioned five Asian American playwrights, all women, to write monologues for characters no younger than 60-years-old. Each monologue will be at least 30 minutes long, and all five will be performed together as a piece entitled Out of Time.
