SNAP! Productions under the direction of Michal Simpson and South High Magnet School under the direction of Rebecca Noble collaborated on an amazing production of the Tony-Award winning musical, ONCE ON THIS ISLAND. The hugely successful production has earned the rave reviews throughout the Omaha metropolitan area. I am only sorry that the show cannot go on, because we all love to hear this story!
SNAP! Productions and South High Magnet School have done it again. I don't know what it is about this collaboration, but they seem to have the magic touch.

JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH is destined to be a giant hit for families with children and for anyone who enjoys a frivolous flight of imagination. It is visually delicious. It is literally music to your ears. And it is another rock solid production for the OCP.
BITTERSWEET: A VALENTINE HANGOVER CABARET held just after Valentine's Day at The Max in Omaha, was one more fun music and humor filled evening. Sarah Gibson, Ashley Laverty, and Mallory Vallier put together a two act show featuring local actors singing about the ups and downs of love.

The result was a colorful concoction that was fresh and fun.
The Omaha Community Playhouse honored its top volunteers at the annual Awards Night ceremony held Monday evening.
SISTER ACT is a simple story about nuns in wimples who are taught to let loose in song by a nightclub singer who is cloistered at the convent in hiding from the hoods. This story isn't just black and white. Well, maybe it is. But this foot stomping musical set in 1970's Philadelphia is fun, no matter what.
Sister Act, running September 16 - October 16, 2016 in the Hawks Mainstage Theatre at Omaha Community Playhouse, is Broadway's smash musical comedy based on the 1992 blockbuster movie starring Whoopi Goldberg.

CAROLINE, OR CHANGE is shaking up the Omaha Community Playhouse. The closest to this musical that I've seen on stage is FUN HOME, winner of five 2015 Tony Awards, including best original score by Jeanine Tesori.
Caroline, or Change, running February 12 - March 20, 2016 in the Howard Drew Theatre at the Omaha Community Playhouse, is a powerful, sung-through musical set in Lake Charles, Louisiana, during the American civil rights movement.
