Metropolitan Opera Announces Cast Change For LA BOHEME
Tenor Yusif Eyvazov, who was scheduled to sing Rodolfo in the upcoming four performances of Puccini's La Bohème, is ill and has withdrawn. He is being replaced by Matthew Polenzani, who will sing the performances on May 16 and 24; Stephen Costello, who will sing on May 20; and Russell Thomas, who will sing on May 27.
Metropolitan Opera Announces Cast Change for TOSCA
Liudmyla Monastyrska will sing the title role of Puccini's Tosca during the 2022–23 season, replacing Hibla Gerzmava in four performances March and April 2023. As previously announced, Angela Gheorghiu will sing the April 8 and 12, 2023, performances.
Puccini's LA BOHEME Returns to the Met Stage Next Week
South Korean conductor Eun Sun Kim, who became music director of San Francisco Opera this fall, will make her Met debut leading Puccini’s La Bohème November 9, marking the first of five female conductors to take the Met podium this season—the most in Met history.
TURANDOT to Return to the Met in October
Puccini’s majestic Turandot will return to the Met with nine performances beginning October 12, 2021, and five additional performances beginning April 30, 2022. Conducted by Marco Armiliato, Turandot features two of opera’s most thrilling voices sharing the title role of the legendary princess: Christine Goerke and Anna Netrebko.

Met Announces Three-Week Schedule For Nightly Met Opera Streams
The Met has announced themed lineups for three weeks of its Nightly Met Opera Streams, the company's ongoing series of encore Live in HD presentations and classic telecasts streamed on its website during the Covid-19 closure. The schedule begins with a week, leading up to Father's Day on June 20, comprising a selection of operas featuring themes of fatherhood.
More Titles Added To Sarasota Opera's 'HD At The Opera House'
Sarasota Opera has announced additional presentations for the 2020 season of “HD at the Opera House.” Richard Strauss's Arabella from the 2014 Salzburg Easter Festival will be shown on Sunday, November 22; Verdi's Macbeth from the Royal Opera House in London will be shown on Sunday, December 6; and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet from the Royal Ballet in London will be shown on Sunday, December 20.
