The Ruth Page Center for the Arts and Ruth Page School of Dance proudly announce tuition-free mentored training for aspiring young male dancers this fall with the beginning of the 2017-2018 season. Providing the highest level of training and expertise, the Ruth Page School of Dance is one of the country's finest dance education centers.  The program, The Victor Alexander Young Men's Scholarship Program, offers boys ages 7 - 17 years old, waved tuition and includes nine months and up to 16 hours a week of professional training. Rubicon Theatre Company presents the gender-bending romantic comedy Twelfth Night, or What You Will, performed by the students of the Education Department's Fearless Shakespeare Intensive, adapted and directed by Rubicon's first company member and critically acclaimed actor Joseph Fuqua. This hilarious tale of role reversal, unrequited love and mistaken identity receives a darkly romantic, goth-inspired reimagining by Fuqua and Dramaturg Dr. Jonathan Drahos. Twelfth Night or What You Will plays for only four performances when it opens on July 29.

With direction by Brian McDonald, musical direction by Miriam Arichea and choreography by Carolanne Marano, The Drowsy Chaperone features over 25 local youth performers in a production well suited for children, adults and families. Opening today, August 13th and running through Saturday, August 16th, performances of The Drowsy Chaperone begin at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and continue 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Thursday, 8 p.m. on Friday, and 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday.

The festivities begin with the return of a holiday revue with six Broadway singers and a local children's chorus; followed by a late-night adult comedy presented in a cabaret setting; a poetic reading of wartime love letters; and culminating with an enchanting new musical from the Tony and Olivier Award-winning director of Les Miserables and Nicholas Nickleby and the creators of Jane Eyre and Daddy Long Legs, who will have a five-week residency at Rubicon during the holidays.

Today, July 13, the Houston Symphony will present a free 12-hour Day of Music at Jones Hall. As a special event during the Symphony's Centennial Season, Day of Music will be set aside to celebrate Houston's musical diversity.
