Despite challenges of the global pandemic, Seattle Theatre Group has been hard at work this past year: creating a new spoken-word showcase for youth of color, producing online programming for more than 30,540 viewers and participants, and safely bringing a variety of musical, dance, and theatrical acts to the stage, including Black Violin, the Indigenous Canadian dance troupe, Red Sky, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, to name a few.  

BroadwayWorld had the opportunity to speak to Ashworth about his experience working with Odom to create the song for Regina King's film adaptation of Kemp Powers' play. Both songwriters feel that “Speak Now” is as timely and culturally relevant in 2021 as it was in 1964 – the year that the meeting between Cassius Clay, Jim Brown, Sam Cooke, and Malcolm X took place.

Canton Ballet will host its fifth annual fundraiser, Touchdowns and Tutus, as an online event March 6 at 8PM due to COVID-19 precautions. The online event will be available on Canton Ballet's and Touchdown and Tutus social media, and will be co-hosted by Megan McCrea, Matt Wintz and Canton Ballet alumnus Tommie Jenkins.

Canton Ballet's annual Touchdowns and Tutus experience is set. The family-friendly event pairs high school football players with Canton Ballet ballerinas in a performance competition at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall located at 2323 17th Street, N.W. on the Pro Football Hall of Fame campus in Canton.

It's been over a year since it was announced at San Diego Comic-Con that Netflix's The Toys That Made Us documentary series had been picked up for a third season on the streaming platform, but now the long wait for new episodes is almost over. Series creator Brian Volk-Weiss announced the Season 13 premiere today, revealing that new episodes will drop on November 15, 2019.
