The Third Mind, the improvisational music collective dedicated to experimenting with new, unorthodox, and unrehearsed sounds while paying tribute to groundbreaking artists like Michael Bloomfield and Fred Neil, set their first U.S. tour in support of their recently released critically acclaimed sophomore album, The Third Mind 2.

The brainchild of GRAMMY award-winning guitarist Dave Alvin and veteran alternative music bassist Victor Krummenacher (Camper Van Beethoven, Monks of Doom, Eyelids), The Third Mind also features guitarist David Immerglück (Counting Crows, Monks of Doom, Camper Van Beethoven), and more.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company opened today its trailblazing new 50,000 square foot theater building and education center, the Liz and Eric Lefkofsky Arts and Education Center.

The pieces Fitzpatrick selected for the mural feature floral or tree themes. It will be titled “Night and Day in the Garden of All Other Ecstasies”, which he sees as similar to the creative process of a play.

CA-based supergroup, THE THIRD MIND, featuring an all-star line-up of players –Dave Alvin (guitar, vocals), Victor Krummenacher (bass, vocals), David Immergluck (guitar, keyboards, vocals), Michael Jerome (drums, percussion) with special guest Jesse Sykes (guitar, vocals)—will release their self-titled debut album on February 14, 2020 via Yep Roc Records.

The 29th annual Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival (Inside Out), championing innovative LGBTQ filmmakers from across the globe, revealed its full feature and short film lineup. The announcement was made today by Inside Out's Executive Director Andria Wilson and the festival's Director of Programming Andrew Murphy. Inside Out, which launched the first ever annual LGBTQ Film Finance Forum, has established itself as an international home and incubator for LGBTQ emerging and established filmmakers. This year's festival will take place May 23 to June 2, 2019.

Marissa McKown has joined the leadership staff at North Berwyn Park District's 16th Street Theater as Managing Director, joining founding Artistic Director Ann Filmer.  Marissa replaces outgoing Managing Director Maeli Goren who will be headed off to grad school at Yale to pursue an MFA in directing.
