BIO
Sal M. Piro was an American actor who was the president of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show Fan Club, a position he held from 1977 until his death. Piro was a part of the original Waverly Theatre audience, from which the unique audience participation elements and much of the film's cult following were born.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Sal Piro, a Rocky Horror Picture Show superfan who was integral in creating the film's cult fanbase, has died at 71. Piro helped create the film's audience participation routines that are still used during screenings of the musical movie.
