​​​​​​​Joe Deninzon, a member of the New Jersey City University (NJCU) Multi-Style String faculty is living a lifelong dream, after recently being hired as the new violinist and guitarist for the legendary American rock band Kansas. The group is currently on the road for Kansas' Another Fork in the Road — 50th Anniversary Tour.

Theater for the New City's Emerging Playwrights Program will be beneficiary of the theater's 20th annual Love 'n Courage benefit Monday, February 13, 2022 at The Players, 16 Gramercy Park South. 

Theater for the New City (TNC) will emphasize Covid safety in this year's Village Halloween Costume Ball, presenting a hybrid (indoor/outdoor) celebration on October 31 to delight its community, young and old, and to celebrate the creativity that comes with the season. 

On Monday, September 19, Theater For The New City, 155 First Ave. (at E. 10th Street), will present a memorial for its co-founder George Bartenieff (January 23, 1933-July 30, 2022) to celebrate his creative years at the theater, 1971-1992.  Reception begins at 7:30 PM and a narrated pictorial, remembrances and performances will start at 8:00 PM.

With the roster still building, Theater for the New City has currently scheduled over 190 performing arts organizations, independent artists, poets, puppeteers and film makers for its 27th annual Lower East Side Festival of the Arts, which will be mounted May 27 to 29 in and around Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave. (at E. 10th Street).

Theater for the New City has presented its Village Halloween Costume Ball annually since 1976. With safety paramount this year, the fete will take place October 31 as an open-air celebration outside the theater, on East Tenth Street between First and Second Avenues.  A large tent will provide rain protection.

Tim Robbins has joined the list of celebrities contributing performances for Theater or the New City's 2021 'Love 'N Courage' gala March 22, which benefits the theater's emerging playwrights program.  Robbins joins Charles Busch, David Amram, F. Murray Abraham and Vinie Burrows in the roster of stars sharing prepared performances.

Families and theaters across the country re-imagine Halloween Entertainment with FunikiJam's ROCK OR TREAT: Halloween Week!
