2020 was the year that wasn't for pantomimes.  Hundreds of live shows up and down the land were cancelled because of the COVID pandemic, and many were only performed to online audiences.  This Christmas, panto is back with a vengeance!

Single Carrot Theatre kicks off Season 12 with Rajiv Joseph's powerful play Mr. Wolf, which opens on Friday, September 13. The cast brings together multiple new faces to Single Carrot from the Baltimore theatre community, as well as reunites a creative team from past seasons.

Today, Sheffield Theatres and Evolution Pantomimes are delighted to announce that Strictly Come Dancing favourite, Joanne Clifton, will be joining the cast for this year's Sheffield Lyceum pantomime, Cinderella.

Cinderella, this year's Marlowe pantomime, opens today (23 November). It stars Harry Reid, Phil Gallagher and Sally Lindsay, alongside local favourites Ben Roddy and Lloyd Hollett.

CBeebies' arts and crafts hero, Mister Maker is back on tour with the hit live theatre show, Mister Maker & The Shapes Live! 

Over the past eleven years family-run pantomime producers, Evolution Productions have built up a reputation for being the UK's number-one creators of bespoke high-quality pantos. The 2016 line up does nothing to disprove this.  The company, which is run by husband and wife team, former TV presenter Paul Hendy and Oxford graduate and former film production manager Emily Wood, will be presenting a festive banquet of seasonal shows across the country from then end of November 2016 to mid-January 2017.  The line up comprises Dick Whttington starring Stephen Mulhern (ITV's Catchphrase, Big Star Little Star) as Billy at The Marlowe in Canterbury, Peter Pan starring Emma Barton (Honey Mitchell - Eastenders) as Tinkerbell and Shaun Williamson(Barry Evans - Eastenders and himself in Extras) at The Hawth in Croydon, Sleeping Beauty at Lichfied Garrick Theatre starring Rebecca Keatley (CBeebies) as Fairy Moonbeam and the great dame himself Sam Rabone as Nurse Nellie, Snow White at The Lyceum Theatre Sheffield starring Wendi Peters (Coronation Street - Cilla Battersby- Brown) and Phil Gallagher(CBeebies - Mister Maker), Snow White at The Alban Arena St Albans starring Rita Simons(Eastenders - Roxy Mitchell) and Ian Kirkby (Dick & Dom In Da Bungalow), Cinderella at Theatre Severn Shrewsbury with panto favourite Brad Pitt and Peter Pan at the Octagon Theatre Yeovill starring supervillain Andrew Fettes as Captain Hook. 

Star acts have been confirmed for The Marlowe Theatre's fifth anniversary gala next month.

STAR acts have been confirmed for The Marlowe Theatre's fifth anniversary gala next month (October). There will be performances from the National Theatre (War Horse), the Royal Shakespeare Company (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Northern Ballet (Jane Eyre), and Zoo Nation Youth Company. Also in the line up are the Philharmonia, The Marlowe's resident orchestra, poet Lemn Sissay, and scenes from West End musicals (to be announced). Pantomime will be represented by Ben Roddy, the evening's host, Stephen Mulhern, and Phil Gallagher.

Marx is back! The premise of this funny, witty and insightful "play on history" is that Karl Marx has agitated with the authorities of the afterlife for a chance to clear his name. Through a bureaucratic error, though, Marx is sent to Soho in New York, rather than his old stomping ground in London, to make his case.

The new season at Sheffield Theatres includes an exciting line-up of West End and Broadway musicals, witty comedy, chart-topping music, poignant drama and family fun. Booking for the new shows will open to Centre Stage Members on Saturday 11 June and to the general public on Saturday 18 June.

Sheffield Theatres and Evolution Pantomimes are delighted to announce Coronation Street's Wendi Peters, children's favourite Phil Gallagher (CBeebies' Mister Maker) and Sheffield legend Damian Williams will star in Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs at the Lyceum Theatre this Christmas.

This season holds a wealth of 'theatre magic' for you! A little frightening, and a lot of fun! Spotlighters tackles a variety of genres, and takes our audiences on some dark travels into the world of politics, feuding families and neighbors, gossipy friends, crime, murder and Dungeon & Dragons.

Phil, who has appeared at the Canterbury venue in three pantomimes, will be appearing as CBeebies' Mister Maker in his first live tour. Phil said: "I am so excited to be on the road and especially pleased to be coming back to The Marlowe, my favourite theatre.

A RECORD number of people saw Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury. The venue played to more than 99 per cent capacity.

As the curtain falls on the 2015-16 pantomime season, Evolution Productions announce record-breaking figures, demonstrating beyond doubt that the pantomime renaissance has come of age.  With The Marlowe Theatre leading the way with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs playing at 99.06% capacity with the number of tickets sold a stunning 95,685 (nearly double the city's population), box office figures over their seven shows across the country came in at 91% attendance, an increase across the board of 10.3% in financial terms on the previous year.
