What could be more charming than watching a Shakespearean comedy in the heart of Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew as the sun sets? Peter Hamilton Dyer’s Twelfth Night is a light-hearted romp through one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies.

This summer, Sixteenfeet Productions bring their unique style of site-specific theatre to the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew for the first time.

“Two households, both alike in dignity”, and so begins arguably Shakespeare’s most popular tragedy. In 424 years since its premiere it’s safe to say not all productions have been alike in status - unlike the famous Capulet and Montague houses of Verona. Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet might as well be the most beloved and regarded couple of the past five centuries. But is Romeo and Juliet a love story? In short, no, not really. It’s a political tragedy that features immature teenage infatuation.

Today, ahead of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre's opening night for the new season, production images are released for Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet. Kimberley Sykes directs Shakespeare’s timeless story of two young people torn apart by a divided society and forbidden love.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre have today confirmed full casting for Romeo and Juliet, which opens the 2021 season on Thursday 17 June.

Back in May 2015, news broke that the Turkish State Intelligence were shipping weapons to Syria. Can Dündar was the editor-in-chief who decided to take a risk and publish the story, he was arrested in November on the grounds of espionage and being members of a terror organisation. His unlawful imprisonment kick-started an intellectual resistance movement and garnered him worldwide support.

Ivatts directs Jamie Cameron (Son), Peter Hamilton Dyer (Can) and Indra Ové (Wife). The production opens on 18 November, with previews from 13 November and runs until 7 December.
