Prologue Theatre has launched their new workshop program, FOREWORD: A New Works Series. FOREWORD is structured as a series of two-week intensive, virtual workshops during which playwrights are paired with a director, actors, and a stage manager who will help to further develop their play. 

Write what you know, authors are often advised. And 'This Bitter Earth,' a vivid tale from prolific playwright Harrison David Rivers reflects a partnership between a back writer and a white activist in Minnesota that is very similar to his own.

Continuing Theater Alliance's mainstage theater season, THIS BITTER EARTH by Harrison David Rivers, investigates who is allowed to participate in social causes, whose participation seems expected, and what happens when both contradict the purpose of a given movement.

Prologue Theatre is putting its own stamp on a play that has acquired a huge cult following over the years, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. Bristling with edgy, memorable performances, the cast takes you right back into the hell of those teenage years, when hurting people, both physically and emotionally, is done as casually as ordering a latte or chucking a tater tot across the cafeteria.

Where do we look to find ourselves? The three plays in Prologue Theatre's second season explore this question beginning with Bert V. Royal's DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead. In this DARK comedy, personal identity, drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion, and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that's both haunting and hopeful.

Prologue Theatre's 'The Explorers Club' is both immensely funny and immensely profound. The careful attention to detail and context pays off greatly, and the result is a wonderful experience for the audience.
