Meredith Long BIO

Meredith is a graduate of the Shenandoah Conservatory of
Music. She lived in New York City until 2004 and has performed off
Broadway, in national tours, on cruise ships, and in various regional
theatres around the country. Her past credits include: Ruthless, where
she won the Big Easy Award for Best Actress. The World Goes Round and
Tunes at Le Petit Theatre, “Miss Mona” in The Best Little Whorehouse
in Texas at the Biloxi Grand, and “Ms. Pennywise” in Urinetown at
Rivertown Repertory Theatre. Meredith also portrayed “Cha Cha” in
the national tour of Grease with Frankie Avalon and Chubby Checker,
“Ethel Toffelmyer” in The Music Man with Tony Award Winners, Gary
Beech and Terrence Mann, and in the original cast of Theatreworks
USA’s national tour of Just So Stories. She was in the Prince Street
Players’ national tour of Cinderella and Merry Go Round Summer Stock
in the Finger lakes. She also worked for The Disney Cruise Line and
numerous regional and touring companies. Meredith continues to
perform, direct, and study throughout the greater New Orleans area.
She teaches Talented Theatre in St. Tamanny and resides in Broadmoor
with her Husband and son. Meredith is also a proud member of Actors
Equity.

Alley Theatre Celebrates Groundbreaking on New Renovation


The Alley Theatre, one of the nation's leading nonprofit theatre companies and housed in one of Houston's most iconic buildings, celebrated the groundbreaking today for the first extensive renovation of its facilities since its opening in 1968 as part of its $73 million capital campaign. Having raised $47.5 million in the "Extended Engagement" campaign, the theatre intends to raise a total of $56.5 million by August 2015 to complete the first two phases of the campaign, Artistic Enhancement and Renovation. This will allow the theatre to have the building costs secured, before the Alley Theatre begins its inaugural season back in its downtown home.
