Hailing from the bordertown Laredo, Texas, Mark graduated from Texas A&M International University with a B.A. in Political Science. However, while trying to diversify his resume for law school applications, he engaged in the local theater scene and eventually followed his heart and moved to NYC shortly after he finished school.

Piece-mealing his education through CAP21's Summer Program and Broadway Dance Center's Professional Semester, he has worked in many union and non-union gigs both regionally and Off-Off and Off-Broadway.

As a proud AEA card carrying member, and SAG Eligible candidate, he lives with his partner in where they call "Washing-Ham Heights" with their Alexa Echo and dishwasher.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Wild Young Hearts: The Marcus Scott Songbook on May 24, 2018 at 9:30 PM. The concert explores the world of what Scott calls 'Afro-Americana' and what it could be through his music and lyrics. The centerpiece of the concert is Scott's show Cherry Bomb (2017 Drama League First Stage in Artist Residence and Finalist for National Black Theater's I am Soul and Yale Institute for Musical Theatre's residencies), an original musical that tells the story of an ambitious young man and the depths he and his high school friends will go to in ensuring that they and their dreams have a place in the world.
