Time is running out to vote for for the 2021 BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Awards! The 2021 Regional Awards honor productions which had their first performance between October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021.

The Baron's Men are well known for their faithful presentations of the works of William Shakespeare. They have, for years, treated the Bard's plays with a fulsome reverence, including strict adherence to Elizabethan period costume and traditional interpretation of material. This production is an abrupt about-face.

BWW Interview: Kate Clark on THE CURATE SHAKESPEARE AS YOU LIKE IT

Coming in March, The Baron's Men will be presenting the rarely performed The Curate Shakespeare AS YOU LIKE at the Curtain Theatre. This unique piece of theatre is subtitled 'the record of one company's attempt to perform the play by William Shakespeare.' The piece came about when the playwright, Don Nigro, was asked by a professional theatre company to adapt AS YOU LIKE IT for performance by a company of seven. Mr. Nigro wrote an original play about a motly company of actors, led by a daft curate, who present Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT. The result is a comedy about their attempts to impersonate all of Shakespeare's characters. The play has had numerous productions nationwide and has become a cult theater classic. We recently had an opportunity to sit down with director Kate Clark for a deeper look at bringing this wholly unique piece to Austin audiences.

No one is safe from the salacious slander of Lady Sneerwell and her scurrilous pack of shameless ne'er-do-wells! A rich guardian secretly tests the character of his nephews (who vie for the love of the same woman) to determine which is the worthier heir.

William Shakespeare's AS YOU LIKE IT, by The Baron's Men and playing at The Curtain Theatre is an excellent production in a perfectly idyllic setting. Arguably Shakespeare's most complicated comedy, AS YOU LIKE IT, may not be as beloved as MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING or A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM but in the hands of first time director Michael Osborn, The Baron's Men have surpassed the norm to present a flawless and professional production.

Six Grammy Award nominations, Two Emmy Awards, Nominations for Drama Desk, Tony Award, Drama League, and Outer Critics Circle Award.  The recipients were on 54's stage yesterday in two separate shows and if there is another award for great nights at Feinstein's/54 Below it would be given to Michael Feinstein's A Holiday to Remember at 7PM and Norm Lewis's 'I'll Be Home For Christmas' at 9:30. 

This weekend, Richard Frankel, Tom Viertel, Steve Baruch and the partners at Feinstein's/54 Below generously threw Broadway favorite, Laura Benanti, a baby shower! 

Christopher Marlowe's iconic work, DOCTOR FAUSTUS, currently playing at The Curtain Theatre, produced by The Baron's Men, is not only a well done piece of historical theatre, it's downright fun.

Summer may be winding down in August, but the competition is just getting started on Food Network with all-new series, returning favorites and fierce tournaments that will pit the best of the best against each other in epic culinary showdowns.
