Natalie Tenenbaum is a composer, pianist, and music producer recognized equally on the stages of Carnegie Hall, SXSW and Broadway for breaking the boundaries between classical composition, popular storytelling, and improvisational jazz to create acoustic and electro-acoustic concert music for a wide scope of artists.

Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti will perform live in concert at 7 pm Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the McCoy Center for the Arts in New Albany.

Recorded with GRAMMY Award-winning engineer/mixer Nic Hard (Snarky Puppy, Charlie Hunter, Ute Lemper) in multiple sessions during winter 2022-23 at Michael League's Estudi Vint in Catalonia, Spain, Real Life marks Kinga Głyk's first new album in more than four years as well as the most distinctive work of her still-evolving career.

Tony Award-nominated Broadway producer, Jacob Langfelder (Sea Wall/A Life), assembled Broadway creatives to write and record TAKE ME BACK, a song of hope for the Wine Country following the harrowing California wildfires.  The song features Original Broadway Cast and Creative members of Moulin Rouge, Mean Girls, Kinky Boots, and Once.

Gary Burton will bring his brand new group to the Blue Note, The New Gary Burton Quartet, featuring guitarist Julian Lage, bassist Scott Colley and drummer Antonio Sanchez. These performances mark Burton's first at the Blue Note in over five years, and the group's North American debut. In a career that has spanned five decades, Burton has played with some of jazz's biggest names and is widely considered a pioneer as both a vibraphonist and composer. 'These are all musicians I have played with in the past, though never in this combination,' Burton says. 'Julian is a constant inspiration, and we have played enough now to have a very deep rapport once we are on stage and we get into the songs. And it just doesn't get any better than having Scott and Antonio for your rhythm section. We all have carved out some time to put this new group together, and I am very much looking forward to playing with everyone.' Burton plans to record the New Quartet on Concord and tour in 2011. *Opening acts will play throughout the week as a part of the Blue Note's Emerging Artist Series presented by Brother Thelonious of North Coast Brewing Co.: Julian Pollack 5 ft. Chick Corea will pay tribute to one of his musical heroes with 'Further Explorations of Bill Evans,' a two-week engagement at the Blue Note in New York from May 4 - 9 and May 11 - 16. He will perform obscure compositions by Bill Evans, as well as his own new songs written in the spirit of the Bill Evans trio.

The series is a unique opportunity for students currently enrolled in college and university jazz programs to open for our major performers on Wednesday evenings, bridging the gap between aspiring young jazz musicians and the world-famous artists that perform at the Blue Note for six nights out of the week.
