The Verdi Chorus’ 40th Anniversary season will conclude with its Spring 2024 Concert STAR-CROSSED! for two performances only at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica on April 27 and 28, 2024.

Sunstone has announced that world-renowned classical performers Danielle Marcelle Bond, Jamie Chamberlin & Nathan Granner are returning for this romantic performance, accompanied by pianist Milena Gligic.

As an early holiday present for opera lovers, On November 12 and 13, the Verdi Chorus’ 39th season culminates with a Verdi Puccini Fest for two performances only at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica. Under the direction of Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum, who promises the program will include “some of the most exciting moments from two of the greatest operatic composers who ever lived,” I decided to speak with her on its inception, creation, and what makes the Verdi Chorus such a special part of our city.

The Verdi Chorus' 39th season culminates with  A Verdi Puccini Fest, for two performances only at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica on November 12 and 13.  Led by Founding Artistic Director Anne Marie Ketchum, the Verdi Chorus is the only choral group in Southern California that focuses primarily on the dramatic and diverse music for opera chorus.

The Verdi Chorus kicks off its 39th season with their Spring Concert, Hélas mon Coeur, dedicated to the memory of Verdi Chorus patriarch Maestro Aurelio De La Vega, for two performances only at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Monica on May 14 and 15.

On Friday, March 26, 2021 at 5:30pm PT, Pacific Opera Project will present a livestream of COVID fan tutte, a revolutionary production of Mozart's Cosi fan tutte that premiered in a live, drive-in format in Camarillo, California in November 2020.

On Sunday afternoon November 22, 2020, Pacific Opera Project (POP) presented COVID Fan Tutte, an updated version of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Lorenzo da Ponte’s Cosi Fan Tutte. The perfomance was presented drive-in style in the parking lot of the United Methodist Church on Anacapa Drive in Camarillo, CA. The lot accommodates 90 carefully positioned cars from which patrons see the a live opera performance on a raised stage and hear it on their cars’ FM sets.

In case you missed the news, after becoming the first major American opera company to respond to stay-at-home orders by launching an acclaimed series of LA Opera At Home online offerings, the company is now making streaming a permanent part of its programming.

Tickets are now on sale for Pacific Opera Project's (POP) revolutionary new drive-in production of Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, COVID fan tutte on Saturday, November 14; Sunday, November 15; and Sunday, November 22 at 5:30pm at Camarillo United Methodist Church.

While LA Opera awaits its cue to return to live performances onstage, the company has turned to creating an array of online content through the LA Opera At Home initiative, which will soon expand to include a series of exciting new Digital Shorts commissions as well as a November 14 stream of The Anonymous Lover by Joseph Bologne, the first known Black classical composer. Since the launch of LA Opera At Home in March, these popular online offerings have accumulated more than 740,000 views to date.

While LA Opera awaits its cue to return to live performances onstage, the company has turned to creating an array of online content through the LA Opera At Home initiative, which will soon expand to include a series of exciting new Digital Shorts commissions.

Opera Orlando presents its annual Opera on Park Summer Concert Series featuring three concerts by world-class singers up-close and personal, although this season will be a bit different. The series goes online and is FREE, livestreamed directly to Opera Orlando fans weekly. Enjoy a diverse selection of songs, arias, and duets, and get to know and chat with the artists before you see them on the MainStage in the 2020-21 season.

The Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh (MCP) has been connecting communities to the art of choral music for 112 years, and even a pandemic will not stop the choir from continuing that mission. This summer, MCP has teamed up with the Oratorio Society of Minnesota (OSM) to offer a?oeCandid Conversations,a?? a weekly, online program that will combine professional vocal coaching sessions with lectures on timely topics in choral music. The sessions, which are free and open to all, will be held on Wednesdays, 8-9:30 p.m. EST, July 8 through August 5.
