The New Works Festival is an annual weeklong event featuring staged readings and workshops of new plays and musicals. Playwrights and composers from around the country are in residence in Flint during the process, which includes post-show audience discussions.
A private first-act developmental reading of the new musical adaptation of 'The Talented Mr. Ripley' will be presented May 23rd at 3pm at the MTC Studios, and May 24th at 7pm in Stephen Schwartz's ASCAP Musical Theatre Workshop. Originally developed in the BMI Workshop (A Chorus Line, Ragtime, Avenue Q) by Gregory Bonsignore (Book/Lyrics) and Aaron Kenny (Music), it will be directed by Michael Berresse (Obie winner, Title of Show, Golden Apple).

Last night, January 18th, 2016, Theatre Now New York presented its 3nd Annual festival of new musicals, Sound Bites 3.0 (sponsored by Music Theatre International and Disney Theatrical Productions) to a sold-out house at the 47th Street Theatre. An after-party, sponsored by MTI, was held after at Hurley's Saloon where awards were given. Sound Bites showcases ten 10-minute musicals or musical excerpts in one evening. At the Thursday preview performance for each show this season, New Line will set aside 25 tickets, and the first 25 people in line at the box office at 7:00 pm will each get a ticket for 25 cents (one ticket per person).

The official opening is set for Sunday, July 13.
