Fergus J Walsh

BIO

Fergus J Walsh is a puppetry designer, fabricator and director. He founded AchesonWalsh Studios with Matt Acheson in 2014. AchesonWalsh Studios is a kinetic creation studio whose clients include Amazon Studios, various Broadway Theatres, Cirque Du Soleil, Disney, Lincoln Center Theater and Radio City Music Hall.


Recent work includes The CatKid Comic Club at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, Dinosphere at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and Other World at the Delaware Theatre Company.

Fergus is an Adjunct Professor in Puppetry at the University of Connecticut and has been an artist in residence at the Museum of Arts and Design. He has won awards from the Jim Henson Foundation and the Irish Arts Council.

Delaware Theatre Company will present the world premiere of OTHER WORLD, a new musical. White Plains Performing Arts Center Conservatory Theatre presents Little Shop of Horrors, this weekend, November 13-15. A gleefully gruesome musical spoof of the 1960 Roger Corman Film, this monster musical is about a hapless florist shop worker, Seymour, who offers his tender love and care to a plant that feeds on human blood. This plant, Audrey II, named after Seymour's secret love, quickly becomes a fascinating attraction in neighborhood called Skid Row. The score, composed by Alan Menken with lyrics by Howard Ashman, (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Aladdin) follows the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), in partnership with the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, returns to Philadelphia for a weeklong musical theater intensive, August 2-9, during which Philadelphia's most promising performers will receive unprecedented instruction from the industry's top directors, choreographers and professionals.  To conclude the weeklong intensive, BDF will present GENERATION, a unique Broadway-style revue featuring performances by Broadway veterans and emerging local talent.
