BWW Review: The Gateway's FLASHDANCE, THE MUSICAL

The Gateway theatre company's thrilling production of Flashdance, The Musical, is truly an electric way to end their busy Summer season. The sensational regional premiere, running through September 15th at the Patchogue Theatre, is excellently directed by Keith Andrews and boasts an absolutely superb cast. And though it is based on the famous 1983 movie, fans of the movie (like myself!) will notice several changes and will be pleasantly pleased in the stage incarnation.

Bryce Pinkham Joins Jim Brochu for Industry Reading of New Play PAGE COUNT

Tony Award nominee Bryce Pinkham (Holiday Inn, A Gentleman's Guide To Love and Murder) and Drama Desk Award winner Jim Brochu (Character Man, Zero Hour) will join forces as an odd couple of writers in 1931 Hollywood in the new play PAGE COUNT by Kerr Lockhart. An industry reading is scheduled for Monday, May 14 at 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM at 353 Studios (353 West 48th Street, Studio 3).

The Laurie Beechman Theater (Kenny Bell, Producing Artistic Director) and Russ Woolley presented the prince of live entertainment along with a cavalcade of stars equipped with brilliant songs and enchanting stories of Broadway and the woman of the hour, Carol Channing.

In another hit for Long Island's John W. Engeman Theatre, Tony nominee The Full Monty delivers a lively production like its Broadway predecessor. This wonderful incarnation, directed superbly by Engeman newbie KEITH ANDREWS, runs through March 5th at the gorgeous Northport venue. The tale centers on a group of steel workers who were laid-off from their job and we follow them trying to get back on their feet and overcome insecurities.
