Baryshnikov Arts Center presents Estado Vegetal (Vegetative State), an exuberant and polyphonic one-woman show written and directed by Manuela Infante,one of the most prolific voices in contemporary Chilean and Latin American theater (May 2-3).

 Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) continues its Spring 2019 season on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 7:30pm with a performance by St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble +Adam Rosenblatt, percussionist, at BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater (450 W. 37th Street). Rosenblatt will perform Belgian composer Thierry de Mey's theatrical and dramatic piece Light Music, in which movements and gestures produce light and sound through interactive technology. This interdisciplinary solo performance will be bookended by Viennese classics - Joseph Haydn's festive Divertimento for Strings from 1754 and Joseph Lanner's charming 19th century waltzes, performed by the St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble. These virtuosic musicians make up the artistic core of the renowned Orchestra of St. Luke's - who share the performing arts complex with BAC at 450 W. 37th Street.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) concludes its Fall 2018 season on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 7:30pm with Quodlibet Ensemble: Music by Biber, Martynov + Sharlat at BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater (450 W. 37th Street). Quodlibet (Latin for 'whatever pleases') Ensemble is a string chamber orchestra of some of today's most sought-after musicians who come from top string quartets as well as period and new music groups. Highlighting their musical diversity, the ensemble performs an eclectic evening of classical music that spans different time periods and styles.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) opens its Spring 2018 Music Series with Anton Batagov and the Attacca Quartet on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 7:30pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater. This varied evening of music features the World Premiere of Different Things from influential post-minimalist Russian composer and pianist Anton Batagov, paired with Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 18, No. 6. Batagov's Different Things will be performed by the composer (at the piano) and the Attacca Quartet, one of America's premier young string ensembles, along with Kris Saebo, double bass; Linda Jones, soprano; Luthien Brackett, mezzo soprano; Andrew Fuchs, tenor; and Steven Hrycelak, bass.

The Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) and Jazz Foundation of America will co-present Stanley Jordan on Today, March 9, 2017 at 8pm at BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater. Among the most gifted guitarists of his generation, Jordan is master of the two-handed tapping technique, using the neck of the guitar like a keyboard rather than strumming or picking. Applying this astonishing technique, or "touch style" in another setting, Jordan also performs on both guitar and piano at the same time, playing chords and melodies with his hands on separate instruments and uniquely melding the two sounds into one. More than a technical phenomenon, Jordan conveys an astounding depth of musical expression through a multi-faceted solo repertoire, ranging from bold reinventions of classical masterpieces to improvisational contemporary works. At BAC, Jordan will be joined for several songs by his daughter, New York City-based singer/songwriter Julia Jordan.

The Baryshnikov Arts Center will present two BAC Salon concerts in November, both in the intimate Howard Gilman Performance Space. On Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 7:30pm, BAC and Composers Now co-present Dialogues with Margaret Brouwer, Esperanza Spalding, and Du Yun and performances by Amy Schwartz Moretti, Blair McMillen, Michael Lipsey, Du Yun,and String Noise, moderated by Composers Now founder, artistic director, and composer Tania Leon.

Over the course of 30 years, Harlem Stage has become one of the nation's leading arts organizations, achieving this distinction by commissioning, developing, producing and presenting innovative works by visionary artists of color. Their Fall 2015 season offers a variety of events, including free neighborhood concerts and ticketed headlining events, as well as lectures and roundtable discussions that advance deeper engagement with Harlem Stage's audience. New York, NY – The Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) continues its 10th anniversary celebratory season with three concerts in April, reflecting BAC's expanded series of music programming for 2015. The weeklong celebration begins Monday, April 6 at 7:30pm, with one of BAC's signature events – a BAC Salon – in the Howard Gilman Performance Space, featuring the chamber music of Berio, Cage, and Mozart in an intimate salon setting. On Wednesday, April 8 at 7:30pm, composer and jazz pianist Stephen Prutsman will perform the entirety of his album Passengers for the first time ever, in another BAC Salon in the Howard Gilman Performance Space. The final performance of the week, on Saturday, April 11 at 8pm in the Jerome Robbins Theater, features the Latvian National Choir, hailing from BAC Artistic Director Mikhail Baryshnikov's birthplace of Riga and bringing to New York a program that includes music by Arvo Pärt, Grammy nominee Ugis Praulins, and the U.S. premieres of works by acclaimed Latvian composers Jekabs Janchevskis, Gundega Smite, and Raimonds Tiguls. The Latvian National Choir last appeared in New York as part of the 2010 White Light Festival at Lincoln Center, in performances The New York Times described as “ravishing.”

Haitian singer Emeline Michel celebrates the release of her latest CD, Quintessence, which has been five years in the making, with a glorious display of Creole soul March 8 and 9 at Harlem Stage. Two Haitian writers of note featured on the new recording will perform alongside Michel: novelist Edwidge Danticat and legendary storyteller Jean-Claude Martineau will read their poetry and recite stories about the power of their nation's spirit, backed by a 12-piece band. Classically-trained Haitian tenor James Germain also shares the spotlight, displaying fresh and unexpected aspects of Haiti's diverse culture.
