Arthur Balder's films have been awarded and being part of the official selections by such institutions as the Los Angeles Documentary Film Festival, the Parajanov-Vartanov Institute in Los Angeles, Fabrique Du Cinema (Italy), Black Nights Film Festival (Estonia), Journees Cinematographiques Du Carthage (Tunisia), First Frame Film Festival, Festival Intl. Cinema Gijon (Spain), Milan Film Festival (Italy), Jaipur Intl Film Festival (India), Prvi Kadar Filmski Sarajevo Festival (Grand Prix 'Stecak Kneza Pavla' 2019 winner and Besti International Film winner), Melbourne Documentary Film Festival, Ferrara Film Festival (Best Documentary winner), has won two consecutive awards by the Association of Latin Entertainment Critics of New York (2015 and 2016), as well the Lady Of the Victory of the Critics Circle of Mexico (2015), the Hispanic Organization of Latin Actors of New York (HOLA Awards 2016) as Excellence in Documentary Filmmaking,
Artur Balder is an American multidisciplinary artist whose work spans sculpture, painting, filmmaking, and literature.
In "American Mirror: Intimations of Immortality", which Balder produced, directed and edited, starring Academy Award-winner Susan Sarandon, Balder develops a personal approach to cinematic poetics and form through a non-linear and visually driven exploration of memory, identity, and cultural experience. The film garnered more than 80 nominations and film festival participations, and won more than 40 awards across all categories, and secured worldwide distribution in 2025.
