Last Thursday, we noticed that an engagement was quietly added to the schedule of London's famed The Crazy Coqs at Brasserie Zedel. The announcement was for a debut of Amy Shaughnessy, directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. We knew nothing about it, so, since both are friends of BroadwayWorld, we reached out.

Cabaret At The Merc will host its first evening dedicated to the ukulele with 'It's All About Uke!' on November 16th. Performances will span the life of the timeless instrument, from its popularization with catchy 1920 tunes to the hits of today! Performances will highlight the ukulele's versatility, including musical theatre pieces from shows like Broadway's Bonnie and Clyde to originals tunes, and even a hip take on Michael Jackson's Thriller. Audience members will be encouraged to sing along with the upbeat final number, and are sure to leave the theatre with a bounce in their step. It will be a feel-good, happy time not to be missed!

Dame Angela Brigid Lansbury. I saw her in Mame, my first Broadway show seen ON BROADWAY at The Winter Garden Theatre from the front row of the mezzanine in seats my dad bought from a scalper because he knew I wanted to see it so badly. I would never recover from the splashy front of The Winter Garden Theatre.

Director/Producer Richard Jay-Alexander's 60th Birthday Bash! The party, held on the third floor of theatre district hot spot Angus McIndoe's restaurant, played host to friends, family, colleagues and more, so we couldn't resist sharing some of Linda Lenzi's wonderful pictures with you. At this annual solstice ritual, the Paul Winter Consort celebrates the first sunrise of summer within the vast acoustics of the world's largest cathedral, New York's Cathedral of St. John the Divine. Beginning in complete darkness, musicians surrounding the audience play continuously for two hours as the cathedral's stained-glass windows gradually illuminate to usher in the longest day of the year.
