Spread The Love: The Songs of Rob Rokicki and Friends Plays Laurie Beechman, 2/13
Composer/lyricist Rob Rokicki will present an evening of his music February 13 at The Laurie Beechman Theatre, titled "Spread The Love: The Songs of Robert Rokicki and Friends." The 7PM show will feature songs from his award-winning musical Love, NY; a full rock band; and several talented friends, including Courtney Wolfson (Addams Family), Megan Reinking (Hair), Tally Sessions (Yank!, Legally Blonde), Brian Gallagher, Heather Parcells (Wonderland, A Chorus Line), Amanda Flynn (Wicked, Mamma Mia), Lorinda Lisitza, Michael Ruby, and more!
Rokicki's "intelligently composed" songs serve as the foundation for several award-winning musicals. With collaborator Michael Ruby, Rob has written music/lyrics for Love, NY (Winner of the 2009 American Harmony Prize), Relativity, Polly Want A Mortgage? (Winner Best Musical, Best Book, Best lyrics at the West Village Musical Theatre Festival), and 20toLife.
Rob is also composer/lyricist of Samson's Fire (BMI workshop), and Martha & Me. His songs have been featured as part of the York Theatre's NEO Series, Lincoln Center's Songbook Series, and have been seen performed at Joe's Pub and at universities internationally. He has acted in national tours, played in rock bands and music directed for the likes of Joe Iconis and others.
