On January 17, Emergent Arts will begin a new series of shows at The Yellow Barn in Ann Arbor, Michigan, under the title "Stage Time", featuring standup comedy, music and other variety acts as available.  Showtime is 7:30pm on Sunday the 17th, followed at 9pm by Emergent Arts' own UNclub Open Mic. May 16 will be the second in a fun series at The Mix with an all star performance by the very best comics who have appeared at The Mix UNclub Sunday night standup show. Capping off a successful 'Season of Family', The Ringwald has indeed saved what is arguably the best for last; certainly the biggest for last. The Ringwald has had great success with the plays of Tracy Letts in the past, producing two of his works: Bug and Killer Joe. August: Osage County promises to be every bit as compelling as his past works.

The Ringwald Theatre's acclaimed production of Stephen Karam's Sons of the Prophet must close Monday, April 15, two weeks earlier than announced.

Ferndale's Ringwald Theatre will present Stephan Karam's play Sons of the Prophet from April 5-29, 2013. A blisteringly funny play about human suffering, Sons of the Prophet makes its Michigan premiere at The Ringwald, recently voted by Real Detroit readers as the Best Theatre Company in Detroit.

Hamtown Races opened at the Planet Ant Theatre in Hamtramck this past weekend and is definitely a must-see for any local theatre lovers. The show is wonderfully put together in the tiny theatre by a great and talented cast, a simple, yet effective set, and a fantastically written script.

Planet Ant is excited to open its 2012-2013 season with Hamtown Races, a new work from Margaret Edwartowski (Harper Woods), author of last season's Snowbound and The Do Over. This original production will take audiences to the Al Ameer Cafe, a family business owned and operated by Lebanese immigrants that plays host to a colorful and diverse collection of characters, each representative of the varied and shifting cultures in Hamtramck. Hamtown Races pays homage to this one of a kind city and features Stephen Blackwell (Berkley), Patrick O'Connor Cronin (Bloomfield Hills), Mike Eshaq (Dearborn), Britta Peele (Harrison Township), Amy Probst (Detroit) and Rico Bruce Wade (Lansing), directed by Mike McGettigan (Dearborn) assisted by Michael Hovitch (Ferndale) with stage manager Genevieve Jona (Farmington Hills).
