Planet Ant Celebrates the Holidays with CHRISTMAS IMPOSSIBLE

This season, Planet Ant Theatre will present the holiday-themed, action spoof Christmas Impossible, an adaptation of its 2003 original comedy 25, November 24 - December 16. Tickets ($20) are on sale now at www.planetant.com and in person at the Planet Ant Box Office starting 30 minutes prior to show time. A complete performance schedule follows,

Ole Solcheck is a fallen guardian angel... well, pushed actually. She was fired from heaven because she decided that five of the humans she was charged with protecting would be better off dead. Banished to Earth, she embarks on a mission to save the lives that she had condemned. But she only has 25 hours to make things right.

Christmas Impossible is a fresh adaptation of the 2003 Planet ant original holiday comedy, 25. Adapted by Shawn Handlon and directed by Dave Davies, this new production features Lauren Bickers, Nick Boulahanis, Jaclynn Cherry, Michael Duprey, Handlon, and Amy Probst with Music Direction by Mikey Brown and original music by John Edwartowski. The original holiday sketch show 25 was written and conceived by Dave Davies, Jaime Moyer, Brett Guennel, Cara Trautman, Nick Smith, Catherine Hong and Mark Mikula.

Christmas Impossible will appear November 24 - December 16 Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm with special performances on Sunday, December 3 at 2:00pm and Sunday, December 10 at 6:00pm. Tickets are $20, with a special half-price opening weekend November 24 & 25, and are available now online at www.planetant.com, and in person at the Planet Ant box office beginning 30 minutes prior to showtime, based on availability. A $5 discount on tickets for Students, Seniors and Hamtramck residents is available at the Planet Ant Box Office.

In August, Planet Ant hosted BoxFest, a theater festival celebrating female directors. One of the prizes awarded at the festival is an opportunity to choose and direct a one act play for Planet Ant's season. This year's play will be directed by BoxFest winner Charity Clark-Anderson.

Planet Ant's Home Team will bring an original comedy to the stage, directed by Lauren Bickers.


The Realistic Joneses
April 27 - May 19, 2018

Ringwald Theater founder, Joe Bailey, will direct this award-winning dramatic comedy that will close the 2017-18 season at Planet Ant. As their relationships begin to irrevocably intertwine, the Joneses must decide between their idyllic fantasies and their imperfect realities.

Monday Night & Saturday Night Improv
Each Monday night at 8:00pm, Planet Ant hosts Detroit's longest running improv show at Ant Hall (2320 Caniff). The evening begins with a guest improv troupe followed by the Planet Ant Home Team, and then the Ant Jam at 10:00pm where anyone can sign up to improvise short form and long form games. Saturday evenings at 10:00pm Planet Ant presents an improv show at the Planet Ant Theatre (2357 Caniff) featuring an opening troupe and a headliner consisting of members of the Planet Ant Home Team and Planet Ant Improv Colony Farm Team. Tickets are $5.
