The 5th Annual Imagination Unchained Concert is a Juneteenth celebration honoring 250 years of Black imagination, resilience, and brilliance through a multi-sensory fusion of live music, poetry, and visual art. Performers include jazz vocalist and poet Marlo Vashti, diva songstress Cande Rivers known for tributes to Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, and Etta James, Emmy-nominated hip hop and R&B artist and social activist Alexander Star, and dynamic host and vocalist Tre Henderson. The evening also features visual artwork by Guyanese-born South Florida artist Dionne H.E. Polite, an interactive LED storytelling gallery on the origins of Black music, and a live poetry performance of The Revolution Will Not Be Televised. Produced by Next Weekend Productions, Inc. in partnership with the City of Lauderhill, the event also recognizes recipients of the Patra Baker Technology Scholarship.
