It is 1952; the lives of three couples intersect as their careers and nefarious activities lead them to a climactic meeting. Maggie and Frank are FBI agents investigating Russians spying on the U.S. atomic fusion bomb-testing in the South Pacific. Lynn McCarthy, (daughter of Sen. Joe McCarthy, of the HUAC hearings,) becomes engaged to James; who reveals he is spying on behalf of the Russians -- and needs Lynn’s help in delivering highly-classified info to his Soviet counterpart in Boston. Florence runs a boarding house on the Boston Harbor. She has knocked off her husband, Nathan, to protect the Russian ‘fisherman’ and spy, Andrei Borchevsky, with whom she is having an affair. The clock is ticking as all roads lead to one foggy night on a Boston fishing pier.
