Into the woods you go again, you have to every now and then" - the Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods heads to Steinmetz Hall starring Tony Award Nominee and Disney Legend Jodi Benson—famously the voice of Disney's Ariel in The Little Mermaid—alongside a cast of Orlando talent. This beloved musical by Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine weaves together classic fairy tales, including “Cinderella,” “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Jack and the Beanstalk” and “Rapunzel,” into a richly layered story about wishes, consequences and the meaning of “happily ever after.” Showcasing the incredible talent of Orlando’s local creative team and performers, this self-produced production by Dr. Phillips Center brings the depth of artistry within our own community to the stage for an unforgettable journey into the woods.

June 07, 2023 A record 16 of the 17 credited cast members are transplants from the Broadway run, including an astounding 97% of its behind-the-curtain crew. In essence, we are getting the bona fide Broadway show, from its stars to its set decorators, here in the heart of Florida. I cannot fathom a better way for local audiences to experience INTO THE WOODS.

June 03, 2023 Here in Orlando, we are lucky to be a stop for many Broadway tours and also very fortunate that these get to play in the magnificent Dr. Phillips Center For the Performing Arts. But rarely do we have the chance to see a limited run of an acclaimed Broadway musical with much of its original cast in place. But next week, we have just that chance when Stephen Sondheim’s INTO THE WOODS lands in Orlando, fresh off a successful run on Broadway and original production at City Center ENCORES!. One of those cast members who has been a part of the production from the very beginning is Cole Thompson, who plays the young lad, Jack.
