The Opera Orlando Youth Company presents Brundibár / Vedem at Orlando Family Stage in December 2026, in partnership with The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida. The program brings together two works created inside the Theresienstadt concentration camp during World War II: Hans Krása's children's opera Brundibár, which was performed by imprisoned children over fifty times within the camp, and Lori Laitman's Vedem, drawn from an underground literary magazine written by teenage boys held in the same camp. Together, the two works tell stories of young people who chose to create art under unimaginable circumstances.
