Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret to Feature Cathy Merkel-Roddy this Month

The Winter Park Playhouse Spotlight Cabaret Series will feature veteran entertainer Cathy Merkel-Roddy in her newest solo cabaret entitled, The Lemonade Stand, on consecutive Wednesday evenings, January 21 and 28, 2015.

Christopher Leavy, Playhouse Musical Director, will accompany on piano. The Lemonade Stand will weave stories about Cathy's exciting life and career with an assortment of musical standards, Broadway favorites and popular hit songs that all share a common theme - hope.

This uplifting evening will raise your spirits as you reminisce about life's good times with songs like "Cabaret", "New York, New York" and "Over The Rainbow". Ms. Merkel-Roddy has an extensive entertainment background having performed with Mannheim Steamroller and Off-Broadway in the musical Chess. She was interviewed by Bryant Gumbel for national television, and is part of professional entertainment at Universal Studios. Her extensive repertoire ranges from Ella Fitzgerald to Lady Gaga.
