Candy Project Announces Auditions for ROOMS: A ROCK ROMANCE, 6/4-5

The Candy Project will present the new punk rock musical fresh from the Off-Broadway stage this August.

ROOMS: A ROCK ROMANCE begins in late 1970's Glasgow where Monica, an ambitious singer/songwriter meets Ian, a reclusive rocker. The two quickly become entangled creatively and romantically. Their music takes them first to London and ultimately to New York City, where they discover the vibrant new music scene and create an intimate partnership, their love deepening while their personalities drive them apart. A rock band accompanies these two characters as they search for the balance between ambition and happiness.

Both roles are open. Seeking 1 male and 1 female who look to be in their 20s and can sing and act in a Scottish accent. It is strongly preferred that the actor who plays Ian be able to play the guitar.

Actors and actresses interested in auditioning are asked to prepare 2 songs, 1 "rock" style and the other a selection of "contemporary music theatre", each 16-32 bars in length.

Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 2pm and Sunday June 5 at 3pm. It is not necessary to attend both audition dates. Callback auditions are by invitation only and will be held Tuesday, June 7th at 7pm.

All three dates of auditions will be held at Northside Christian Church, 5555 Larimore Avenue, Omaha NE 68104.
