Dust And Daybreak at Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma

Set in the fading glow of a 1930s Oklahoma town on the edge of the Dust Bowl, Dust And Daybreak is a sweeping original musical about resilience, memory, and the cost of leaving home.

The story follows Etta Mae Callahan, a young schoolteacher who refuses to abandon her drought-stricken town while nearly everyone else heads west in search of survival. When a mysterious drifter named Cal Reeves arrives; carrying only a guitar and a past he won’t speak of; the two form an unlikely bond that begins to reshape the town’s fate.

As dust storms rage and tensions rise, the community must decide: hold on to what’s left, or risk everything for a new beginning.
