CST Presents CONSIDER THE OYSTER, 10/17-11/08

By:

Carpenter Square Theatre continues its 31st Season with the Oklahoma City premiere of "Consider the Oyster," a comedy by David MacGregor.

MacGregor explores gender and our changeable human nature from a decidedly comedic viewpoint, and it will play October 17-November 8 at 800 W. Main in downtown Oklahoma City.

Set in Michigan, it begins on Super Bowl Sunday, and Gene and his best buddy are celebrating their beloved Detroit Lions' big win. The one thing that could make Gene's super day perfect is a "yes" when he proposes to his girlfriend.

However, the celebration takes a strange turn when Gene breaks his leg badly. Shortly, he begins to feel some odd changes. The oyster shell that the doctor left in his leg to assist with his healing is causing him to slowly transition into a female, just the way an oyster does!

As the comedy plays out, we see Gene trying to deal with his changes, and how his fiancée, prospective mother-in-law, and best friend try to cope with the "new" Gene.
