"Who Are We Becoming” is an interactive show co-created by Village Playback Theatre and the audience.
A team of skilled actors and musicians creates a space where the audience is invited to share stories of who you have become—and who you are becoming—in response to the world around you. The performers play back the stories volunteers from the audience have offered with sensitivity, insight, and artistry. They create meaningful, memorable theater and strengthen community as we identify with and empathize with the stories shared.
For 25 years, VPT has performed and led workshops for people throughout metro New York, in various U.S. states, and abroad. Their audiences include universities, non-profits, hospitals, prisons, homeless shelters, and traditional theaters. They've performed for local agencies such as NYC Administration for Children's Services and global organizations such as the United Nations.
