SUBTLE PRIDE is Misha Brooks, Zach Donovan, Brigette Lundy-Paine & Mina Walker.
Subtle Pride returns to the Dixon Place stage after a sold-out show in the Lounge this winter. Through a combination of Subtle Pride’s signature improvised music, amateur puppetry, Russian folklore, and normal theatre, Subtle Pride takes us on a journey through the proverbial Art World and down the road to fame as we discover that success and multi-disciplinary performance go hand-in-hand.
NYC’s premiere improvisational voice band, Subtle Pride, eludes genre as they redefine pop music, breaking it down into its atoms & repurposing them into a performance that polarizes parody & earnest songwriting, pitting the two against each other & leaving the rest of us to decide: is this art novel? Or is it simply novelty? Performing hyper-original songs, written & performed simultaneously, Subtle Pride promises to titillate, confuse & amuse audiences of all ages from 18 to 80.
