Reserve your seat at www.donttellmamanyc.com Gloria Bangiola’s new Cabaret “I Dreamed Last Night” is an evening of songs and stories about dreams: hopes, wishes, ambitions, fantasies, nightmares, impossibilities. Dreams dance with possibility just beyond our fingertips, drawing us to their beauty, their almost-realness. Then there’s that elusive, heartbreaking dream that Americans love so well in spite of how often it stands us up. With music direction by long-time collaborator John Fischer and award-winning director Lennie Watts, “I Dreamed Last Night” features a wide array of music, from Harry Mancini and Frank Loesser to The Indigo Girls and Billy Joel. In this intimate hour, Gloria reflects on the dreams that visit both in the wee small hours and waking life.
Singer, actor, and teacher Gloria Bangiola’s first two shows: Back to School and A LITTLE BROAD received praise; Scott Barbarino called her work “smart cabaret” and Bart Greenberg calling her “a true star". In addition to cabaret, Gloria acts and produces on stage and film, most recently portraying Jane Austen in the short film MANYDOWN, and developing and acting in new plays: “Looking for Gold in Boyle Heights” by Matt Steinberg and “Hole-N-Da-Wall” by Herbert Benjamin through her production company Salted Lemon (learn more at www.saltedlemonprod.com). Gloria has ten years of education experience from the Bronx public schools to Manhattan Youth, and teaches general music, choir, voice, piano, and acting to students of all ages.
