Two Bimbos Present: "But I Met You On TV"

Starring Adam Berke, Amanda Tugangui, Nancy Pop, and Natalie Myrick

Two podcasters from a Bachelor-type reality show vibe a bit too much while interviewing reality stars who think they have it all together. This satirical play explores and challenges the cost of performing being "in love" to the whole world, influencer culture and just how far people will go to prove they care about mental health.

Byron
Adam Berke (Byron) is excited to make his New York City theatrical debut with Two Bimbos. Adam performed in a variety of stage productions as a youth in his hometown of San Francisco and was previously featured on Bravo's hit series Million Dollar Listing New York. He is grateful for the opportunity to bring "But I Met You on TV" to life on the stage.


Amanda Tugangui

Alex
Amanda Tugangui is a NYC-based actor, singer, and improv-er. Having just relocated from LA, she is thrilled to work with the Bimbos for her first project in the city! Recent credits include: Avenue Q (The Hollywood Majestic), Fun Home (Conundrum Theatre Co.), and Wait Until Dark (Theatre Palisades). She is represented by Gill Talent Group.


Nancy Pop

Podcast Guests
Nancy Pop is a Romanian-American actress, producer, and filmmaker based in New York. Her work often dissects the permeable moments between thriller and comedy, telling stories of intimacy and lesser explored truths with elements of camp. Her films have screened across the globe throughout North America, London, Turkey, Paris, and Bucharest, winning several awards including “Best Feature” and “Best Comedy” for her directing work on the feature film, Poets Are The Destroyers. She received her BA in Theater Performance and Playwriting from Marymount Manhattan College. You may know her from YouTube or in Sephora stores for Amika’s “Bust Your Brass” campaign back when she was a peroxide blonde. Recent acting credits include TISMO (dir: Lita Lofton), "Yes, Mother!" (dir: Misha Calvert), "Buffalo.& Wolfy" (dir: Rebecca Ozer), "The World's Greatest Spaghetti" (dir: Blaine Fuller), "Plant Moms" (dir: Amy DePaola), and crime fiction audiodramas "And Then I Sing" and "Burning Gotham" (dir: James Scully).


Natalie Myrick

Kate
Natalie Myrick (Kate) is a Brooklyn-based actor/musician who is thrilled to be joining Two Bimbos to dissect reality TV culture—one of her most cherished pastimes. Since graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, her primary focus has been on new works in development and contemporary musicals with folk-rock scores. In addition to performing regionally and Off-Off Broadway, she also spent a year producing original adaptations in Paju, South Korea, with English Musicals Korea. She just disembarked from a four-month stint on an Alaskan cruise ship playing guitar and singing your dad’s favorite songs with the Rolling Stone Rock Room. Catherine Weingarten

Playwright
Catherine Weingarten is a friendly jewish chick from an obscure area of Pennsylvania! Catherine’s summer camp play “Are You Ready to Get PAMPERED!?” had a reading at 59E59 with Less than Rent and also was part of Dixon Place’s Bingo Lounge. Some of her other plays include: Pineapple Upside Down Cake (KCACTF:national semi-finalist), Janis and the Big BAD World (Semi-finalist at Wide Eyed Productions), A Roller Rink Temptation (NOLA Fringe), This Car Trip Suckss ( Piper Theater Productions Emerging Artist Reading Series), and Love Potion Number Slut (Tiny Rhino). She has been involved with Abingdon Playwrights Group as well as New Perspective’s Women’s Work Short Play Lab. She is the recipient of the Scott McPherson award. Lita Lofton

Director
Lita Lofton is a Brooklyn-based director and performance artist working to tell stories of metamorphoses and dreams made visceral. Of Russian and African American heritage, Lofton’s work pulls on her fascination with the nebulous and undefined spaces; her artistic practices and aesthetic play with the dichotomies between sexy and scary, dream and reality, fairytale and nightmare, universe and void. She makes art with the goal of comforting while terrifying and always seeks to tell stories of her ancestors, both literal and metaphorical, and of the places that she comes from. Lofton is the co-founder and Artistic Director of The Social Club Theatre and is currently exploring the ways in which we as storytellers can breathe new life and new stories into the performance community after two years of quiet and strange isolation.


Greg Lipson

Stage Manager
Gregory Lipson is a theater maker and activist. After graduating from Harvard in 2020, he spent 2 years in politics fighting for our democracy. Andie Lerner

Assistant Director
Andie Lerner is a New York based theatre artist. Her work is focused on collaborative storytelling and experimentation. Recent directing credits include: A Midsummer Night's Dream (Shakespeare in the Woods), Constellations (The Barrow Group), Randy’s Dandy Coaster Castle (Breaking & Entering Theatre Company) Christmas Carol and Two Gentlemen of Verona (Valley Shakespeare Festival).
