AS HE LIKES IT: A SHAKESQUEER COMEDY Revived at The 2018 FRIGID Festival

As He Likes It: A Shakesqueer Comedy is being revived, this time at the 2018 FRIGID Festival!

Sour Grapes Productions is proud to present this LGBTQ take on William Shakespeare's As You Like It, with the original main character of Rosalind now being Ross. Our Ross has suffered tremendously with the banishment of his father and his attempts to learn who he is under the watchful eye of his not-so-accepting uncle, but his life is thrown into a tailspin the minute he sets his eyes on Orlando. To avoid certain death after his own banishment, Ross must stay in disguise, but must simultaneously find a way to woo his love without drawing suspicion. Hijinks of course abound, as Ross and his companions almost immediately buy a pot farm, and Ross (in disguise as a woman) accidentally gets another suitor.

Performances at the 2018 FRIGID Festival are Saturday Feb 17, 2018 at 3:20PM, Tueseday Feb 20, 2018 at 7:10PM, Friday Feb 23, 2018 at 6:50PM, Thursday Mar 1, 2018 at 8:50PM, and Saturday Mar 3, 2018 at 8:20PM. All performances will be at The Kraine Theater at 85 E 4th Street, 10003.

This show stars Bryan Songy (Ross), Matthew K Sears (Orlando), Amanda Nicastro (Celia), Will Dietzler (Touchstone), Jack Butler (Jacques), Katherine Yacko (Adam/Corinne/Goddess Hymen), Matthew Preston (Oliver/Oliver Martext), Wendy Watt (Silvia), Anthony Host (Duke Fredrick/Duke Senior), Chris Weigandt (Audrey), Genny Yosco (Phoebe), and Ken Dillon (Charles/Le Beau/Lord/Amiens/William/Jacques de Bois).

This will be Sour Grapes Productions third year performing at the FRIGID Festival (previously with CSI: Mayberry at the 2016 FRIGID, winning an award for Best Mash-Up, and with A Fifth Dimension: An Unauthorized Twilight Zone Parody at the 2017 FRIGID, winning an award for Best Ensemble Piece). This will be SGP's 9th New York festival show overall, and their second time producing As He Likes It, which premiered at the 2016 UNFringed Festival.

Tickets are available here for $15, or at the box office for $10 if you say a word that Shakespeare invented!
