When Grigory Sokolov last visited the Oslo Opera House in 2015 he was greeted by a full house every evening – and played six extra performances. The myth and legend now returns with a solo concert in the Main House.

With his rich tonal palette, brilliant technique and unique personality, the pianist has a rare ability to leave audiences spellbound.
Grigory Sokolov rose to fame as a 16-year-old through the prestigious Tchaikovsky competition in Moscow, and many believe that – following in the footsteps of greats such as Horowitz, Gould and Richter – he is now one of the greatest living pianists in the world. After a busy career performing both as a concert pianist and as a soloist with major orchestras, he now concentrates on solo recitals. These 60 or so concerts each year sell out wherever he plays.
