Riverside Center for the Performing Arts presents The Bridges of Madison County, which will run from Wednesday, September 20th - Sunday, November 12, 2023. Based on the best-selling novel and award-winning movie, The Bridges of Madison County tells the story of Francesca Johnson, a beautiful Italian woman who married an American soldier to flee war-ravaged Italy, looking forward to a rare four days alone on her Iowa farm when her family heads to the 1965 State Fair. When ruggedly handsome, National Geographic photographer, Robert Kincaid, pulls into her driveway seeking directions, what happens in those four days may very well alter the course of Francesca's life. It is a sweeping romance about the roads we travel, the doors we open, and the bridges we dare to cross. With an incredible score by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, and book by Pulitzer and Tony Award winner Marsha Norman, The Bridges of Madison County is a powerful and touching love story that will leave you breathless with ballads including “Before and After You,” “One Second and Million Miles,” and “It All Fades Away.”

This production stars an outstanding cast led by husband-and-wife duo Adrianne Hick as Francesca Johnson, and Andrew Foote as Robert Kincaid. Adrianne returns to the Riverside Stage after starring in Bright Star as Alice Murphy and most recently in Ragtime as Mother. The cast features PJ Freebourn as Richard “Bud’ Johnson, Andrea Kahane as Marge, Ian Lane as Charlie, Taylor Witt as Michael Johnson, Kathleen Laura as Carolyn Johnson, Sarah Mae Andersen as Marian, and Stephanie Wood as Chiara/ensemble. The ensemble includes Kevin Cleary (Bud, Charlie u/s) Elizabeth Butler (State Fair Singer, Francesca u/s), and Kevin Perry as Robert Kincaid’s understudy.

The Bridges of Madison County creative team is led by Riverside Center for the Performing Arts Producing Artistic Director Patrick A’Hearn, along with Assistant Director and Movement Consultant, Stephanie Wood. Music Direction by the brilliant Carson Eubank, scenic set design by Frank Foster, lighting design by Michael Jarett, and production electrician Weston Corey. Costume designer/wardrobe supervisor is Erin Welsh, sound design by J. Pat Bragg, and sound engineer/sound design by Cheyenne Tenda. The scenic charge artist is Janelle Woods, properties master and set dresser is Claire Flores, and the production stage manager is Jessica O’Kelley.

The creative team is rounded out with Technical Director, Nathan Dunn, and Production Manager, Kyna Chilcot.
