Season subscriptions are now available for the Firehouse Theatre's 2010-11 season, a dynamic set of four performances that will begin in September and run through April 2011.

"The Firehouse's 2010-11 season will present four of the most diverse and captivating plays we ever have produced," said Founding Artistic Director Carol Piersol. "We'll present a teenaged Charlie Brown in crisis, a rock opera about a young couple struggling with their actions after a murder spree, a creative genuis at odds with himself and those around him, and Edward Albee's classic domestic drama, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"

Season subscriptions are $85 for adults and $75 for seniors 65 and older and may be purchased by calling the Firehouse box office at 804-355-2001 or online at www.firehousetheatre.org. Also new this year are student and RAPT member subscriptions for $32 with ID.

Individual show tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for seniors, and $10 for students and RAPT members with ID.

Following is the full season schedule:

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? by Edward Albee, Sept. 9-Oct. 2, 2010 - This play is an American classic written by a reknowned playwright who has spoken at the Firehouse and was its inspiration for the Festival of New American Plays. The Firehouse previously produced several of his works, including The Death of Bessie Smith, The American Dream, and The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?

Love Kills by Kyle Jarrow, Oct. 28-Nov. 20, 2010 - Billed as a "new emo rock musical," this play premiered to great acclaim in October 2009 at St. Louis's New Line Theatre. Based on true events, the show takes us back to Nebraska in 1958, as we witness the world closing in on two teenage lovers charged with committing eleven murders in the course of a week.

Dog Sees God by Bert V. Royal, Feb. 3-Feb. 26, 2011 - Everyone knows the fun-loving characters from the comic strip Peanuts. This "unauthorized parody" gives a glimpse of what happens when they become teens. As main character CB mourns the death of his dog, his sister has gone goth, his best friend is a pothead, and his piano-playing buddy has become the school outcast.

Something Intangible by Bruce Graham, March 24-April 16, 2011 - Set in 1940s Hollywood, this play tells the story of two stressed-out brothers - one a creative but difficult genius, the other business-minded and troubled. The award-winning script is loosely based on the story of Walt Disney as he fought to escape Mickey Mouse's success while creating Fantasia.

The Firehouse also is producing Jonathan Larson's Broadway smash, Rent, as its special summer play. Rent will run from June 24-Aug. 1. Rent is a rock opera based on Giacomo Puccini's opera La bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. On Broadway, Rent gained critical acclaim and won a Tony Award for best musical among other awards. The play has never been produced in Richmond outside of performances by the Broadway touring company.

Tickets to Rent are $27 for adults, $24 for seniors 65 and older, and $12 for students and RAPT members with ID.
