THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD - Broad Brook Opera House

AUDITIONS FOR MUSICAL "THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD"
Broad Brook Opera House, Broad Brook, CT

Opera House Players, Inc., located in the Broad Brook section of East Windsor, CT, announces auditions for the musical THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD. Auditions will be held at the Broad Brook Opera House, 107 Main Street, Broad Brook, CT on Sunday, May 13 from 6-9pm and Monday, May 14 from 7-10pm. Be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of a strong musical theater song in the proper key (no pop songs, please). Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring your own headshot, if you have one. Callbacks will be May 21.

This play requires each actor to have significant interaction with the audience. Therefore a certain "fearlessness" is expected of all performers and this should be demonstrated at auditions.

The show will be directed by John Pike, with musical direction by Melanie Guerin. Performances are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from September 7 through 23, 2012.

This wildly warm-hearted theatrical experience kicks off when a hilariously loony Victorian musical troupe "puts on" its flamboyant rendition of an unfinished Dickens mystery. The giddy playfulness of this play-within-a-play draws the audience toward one of DROOD'S most talked-about features, which allows the audience to vote on the solution as prelude to the most unusual and hilarious finale!
