LAKEWOOD THEATRE COMPANY TO HOLD AUDITIONS

FOR THE MUSICAL

SISTER ACT

FEBRUARY 10 & 11, 2018

Lakewood Theatre Company will be having open auditions for the musical SISTER ACT on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10 and SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2018. For more information and to sign up online to secure an audition appointment see this link:

Sister Act is directed and choreographed by Michael Snider. The musical director is Cyndy Ramsey-Rier.

The director is casting actors in ages ranging from 18-70. All roles are open for audition and all receive remuneration. All ethnicities are encouraged to audition. All roles are open for audition and all receive remuneration. For a breakdown of roles, please

Call backs, if needed, will be held on Monday, February 12 at 6:30 PM.

Audition Location: Lakewood Theatre Company at Lakewood Center for the Arts,
368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

Materials Needed: Please secure an
audition appointment online and list all conflicts between March 6 – June 10. You can email a resume and head shot to
bio@lakewood-center.organd bring both to your audition appointment. Please prepare an uptempo Broadway song (not from Sister Act). You MAY be asked to sing a ballad as well. Please make sure your song is in the correct key for your voice (no Andrew Lloyd Webber or Sondheim). An accompanist will be provided. Please, no recorded music or a cappella singing. And also note: you may be asked to sing from the score at the audition.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals are scheduled to begin Monday, March 6 and continue Mon.-Thurs. 6:30pm-9:30pm, Sat. 10:00am-2:00pm for March. Friday or Sunday rehearsals will be added in April.

Performance Schedule: Sister Act opens April 27 and continues through June 10, 2018. Performances are Thurs-Sat at 7:30 PM, Sundays at 2:00 and 7:00 PM and two Wednesdayevening performances at 7:30 PM. Lakewood Theatre Company features an intimate 220-seat theatre located at Lakewood Center for the Arts,
368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

Based on the hit film Sister Act, Deloris Van Cartier is a wannabe diva whose life takes a surprising turn when she witnesses a crime. She hides in the last place anyone would think to look — a convent! Deloris helps her fellow sisters find their voices as she unexpectedly rediscovers her own.

The original regional production of Sister Act premiered in 2006 at the
Pasadena Playhouse. The original
West End production opened on June 2, 2009 at the
London Palladium, starring
Patina Miller and produced by
Stage Entertainment and
Whoopi Goldberg. The
Broadway production opened in 2011 and received multiple
Tony Award nominations for the 2011 season, including Best Musical, Best Actress in a Musical and Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
