PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and MACBETH - Bainbridge Performing Arts

Bainbridge Performing Arts is pleased to announce that combined auditions for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE plus MACBETH will be held February 9 and 10, Sunday from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. plus Monday from 6:40 – 9:30 p.m. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE includes roles for 8 – 10 actors, ages 18 and up, and MACBETH includes roles for 14 – 20 actors, ages 12 and up. All roles are open for audition. See our website at
www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org for a complete listing of roles.

Those auditioning for either or both productions are required to prepare two approximately 1-minute contrasting monologues – one contemporary (Ibsen, Shaw, Wilde, and Chekhov through the present) and one classic. For those auditioning for MACBETH only, the classic monologue should be Shakespeare. British RP accents will be used for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE but are not required for the monologue.

Run dates for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE are May 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, and 17, with a special Pay-What-You-Can Preview on April 30. Based on the book by Jane Austen, adapted by Kate Hamill, and directed by Pete Benson, this isn’t your grandmother’s Austen! Bold, surprising, boisterous, and timely, this P&P for a new era explores the absurdities and thrills of finding your perfect (or imperfect) match in life. PRIDE AND PREJUDICE rehearsals extend March 9 – April 29, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:40 – 9:40 p.m. plus Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The majority of rehearsals will be held at BPA with a few at Theatre Puget Sound in Seattle. Cast members will be provided with walk-on ferry passes for rehearsals and performances.

Join us for MACBETH and The Bard at Bloedel: BPA’s 8th Annual Summertime Shakespeare performance! Prophecies, ambition, murder, and mayhem abound in Shakespeare’s spellbinding psychological thriller, set in the beguiling meadow at The Bloedel Reserve, and directed by BPA’s Director of Education, Pete Benson. Run dates for MACBETH are July 9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 24, and 26, with a special Pay-What-You-Can Preview July 8. MACBETH rehearsals extend May 18 through July 8, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:40 – 9:40 p.m. plus Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. All rehearsals will be held at BPA or Bloedel Reserve, and Seattle-area cast members will be provided with walk-on ferry passes for rehearsals and performances.

Don’t miss the opportunity to play a role in BPA’s 2019 – 2020 Season. BPA’s combined auditions for PRIDE AND PREJUDICE plus MACBETH will be held February 9 and 10, Sunday from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m. plus Monday from 6:40 – 9:30 p.m. Auditions are by appointment only, and interested parties are requested to email
