Lend Me a Tenor is a comedy farce with fast-paced mishaps, mistaken identities, and enough drama for a Wagnerian Opera. Tito Morelli, “Il Stupendo” will be singing for the first time with the Cleveland Opera company – however, when the famous tenor is believed to be dead an underdog of an understudy steps up to play Otello. Into that mix throw in a diva soprano, a hopeful ingénue, and a ferocious Italian wife, add an extra Otello, a nervous General Manager and an eager bellhop and you have a comedy guaranteed to bring ovations of laughter.
