FOR THE MUSICAL
IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS
SUNDAY, AUGUST 4 AND MONDAY AUGUST 5, 2013
Lakewood Theatre Company will once again be staging the popular Irving Berlin's White Christmas for its 2013 holiday attraction. Open auditions will be on SUNDAY, AUGUST 4 and MONDAY, AUGUST 5, 2013. This third remounting is directed by Annie Kaiser and the musical director is Eric Little. Call

The director is seeking: men and women, ages 18-50, to join members of the 2012 cast; principals and ensemble are needed. All performers receive remuneration. No children will be cast at this audition.

Audition Location: Lakewood Theatre Company at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

Materials Needed: Please bring a resume, a current 8X10 glossy photo, and prepare a Broadway /Irving Berlin song in the correct key for your voice (no contemporary, pop, rock). An accompanist will be provided. Please, no recorded music or accapella singing. Please note: you may be asked to sing from the score at the audition.

Performance Schedule: Irving Berlin's White Christmas opens Friday, December 13, 2013 and continues through December 29. Performances continue nightly at 7:30 PM (except Dec. 16, 23, 24, 25). There are also Saturday matinees (Dec. 14, 21,28) at 2:00 PM and Sunday matinees Dec. 15, 22, 29) at 2:00 PM. Lakewood Theatre Company features an intimate 220-seat theatre located at Lakewood Center for the Arts, 368 S. State Street in Lake Oswego.

About the Play: Irving Berlin's White Christmas is a new Irving Berlin musical direct from Broadway. Brimming with such Berlin hits as Blue Skies, How Deep is the Ocean? Sisters, Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep, and of course, the unforgettable title song, White Christmas. Irving Berlin's White Christmas is based upon the Paramount Pictures film written for the screen by Norman Krasna, Norman Panama, and Melvin Frank. Music and lyrics by Irving Berlin. Book is by David Ives and Paul Blake. Lakewood Theatre Company had sold-out shows with productions in 2011 and 2012.

The Story: Two army buddies, Bob and Phil, have a successful song-and-dance act after the war. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters (Betty and Judy) to a Christmas gig at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by their former Army commander, General Waverly. The boys soon realize they are the only guests at the resort because there is no snow! In order to help the General, they come up with a scheme to bring in a crowd.

Role Breakdowns
This play has ensemble roles for adults of all ages. Actors interested in lead roles (Bob, Phil, Betty, and Judy) need to be between the ages of 20 and 35 (or look those ages) with singing and dancing experience. Supporting roles are open for adults of all ages, with one role for a man over 50. All roles receive remuneration.
