Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre has been notified that a licensing issue has forced cancellation of the upcoming musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (July 11 - 26). The publisher has refused to extend rights previously granted to the theatre due to the show's national tour coming to the city next season.

Le Petit Theatre is currently seeking rights to another play to perform in the same time frame.

"We apologize to our ticketholders and we are currently notifying and offering a refund to those who request it. However, it is our hope that ticketholders will allow us a few days to obtain rights to an equally entertaining performance at the same show times," said Cassie Steck Worley, artistic director. The show's cast was notified of the cancellation this afternoon.

Updates will be posted to the theatre's website, www.lepetittheatre.com. Ticketholders may also call the box office at 504-522-2081 between 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
