Sound and Music in the Muslim World at Brown Hall, New England Conservatory

A day-long conference and concert exploring musical and sonic traditions of the Muslim world, organized by NEC DMA student Hasan Imam Hamdani. The event includes panels and lectures from 9:30 a.m.–5 p.m., followed by a concert from 6–7:30 p.m. featuring Hindustani Classical, Arabic, Turkish and Moroccan music. Performers include Jawwad Noor, Hasan Imam Hamdani, Mehmet Ali Sanlikol, Firas Zreik and Samir Langus.
