THE DAVID DRUMGOLD VARIETY SHOW Pride Edition to Return to Puffin Cultural Forum
Richard Cortez, Zeta Jones, and more will perform at the Teaneck, NJ celebration of Pride.
Actor, producer, and creative force David Drumgold (To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar!) returns to the Puffin Cultural Forum Saturday, June 13th at 7 pm with his annual Pride Variety Show - a dazzling celebration of music, comedy, drag, dance, and pure theatrical joy.
Inspired by the classic variety shows of the 1960s and '70s like The Carol Burnett Show, The Flip Wilson Show, and The Cher Show, The David Drumgold Variety Show delivers an unforgettable evening of laughter, show-stopping talent, and Pride Month celebration. Featuring an electrifying lineup of performers and world-class entertainers, this beloved annual event promises heart, glamour, and the magic of live performance at its finest.
Featured performers include:
Richard Cortez, (jazz singer), Richard's timeless, golden baritone voice handles The Great American Songbook with a deep emotional intelligence, an unbridled passion for song, and an activist's relationship to both his material and his audience. His debut jazz album Mood Swings (la reserve) hit 1 million streams just three months after its release and has now passed 2 million. Richard has shared the bandstand with some of the world's most celebrated and respected jazz musicians. His renderings of timeless compositions written between 1928-1960 by composers like Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, George and Ira Gershwin and so many others deliver sweetness, self-assuredness and disarming vulnerability with a well-timed wit.
Zeta Jones, (drag queen), known for glamorous, high-fashion looks and polished makeup artistry, Zeta built a reputation blending old-Hollywood sophistication with contemporary club performance culture. Her drag persona draws inspiration from actress Catherine Zeta-Jones, whom she has cited as embodying "high class chic" and glamorous femininity. She has collaborated and appeared alongside notable NYC drag entertainers including Tina Burner, Peppermint, Sasha Velour, and Maddelynn Hatter within the city's nightlife circuit. Her performance style is often described as playful, sensual, fashion-forward, and rooted in classic diva glamour while still embracing the irreverent spirit of NYC nightlife drag culture.
Jada Valenciaga, (drag queen) emerging as part of a newer generation of NYC drag talent, Jada developed a reputation for high-energy performances that blend fashion, comedy, dance, and crowd interaction. As part of NYC's evolving drag culture, Jada Valenciaga represents a generation of performers who balance nightlife entertainment with digital visibility, activism, and queer cultural celebration. Her work contributes to the continued vitality of New York's drag scene by bringing together glamour, performance artistry, and inclusive community engagement.
Diana Taylor (R&B Singer) hails from Houston Texas and moved to NYC in the spring of 1997. A year later in 1998, she released her very first single under "Priority Record Label" making her the #1 House/Dance artist signed to the then infamous Label, alongside big names like Ice Cube, No Limit, Snoop Dog and so many other heavy hitters.
Yasuhiko Fukuoka (Pianist) is a versatile pianist and in-demand composer who is recognized both onstage and off for his virtuosic talents. His emotional, story-driven music has captivated audiences throughout the world. His works have appeared at prestigious venues from Lincoln Center to Festival de Cannes Court Métrage, spanning many genres of music from orchestral to electronica. New York Times Stephen Holden declared, "brilliant pianist, Yasuhiko Fukuoka, found a seamless blend of folk, classical, blues, and vaudeville styles."
