THE BIKINIS - A new Musical Beach Party!

Created and Written by
Ray Roderick and James Hindman

Additional Music and Lyrics by
Joseph Baker and Ray Roderick

Thursday August 12 thru Sunday August 22

At the Carousel House on the Boardwalk
Asbury Park, NJ
With a show that promises to get everyone dancing in the aisles, THE BIKINIS relive their heyday and beyond, beginning the summer of 1964, the night these four inseparable friends got their name, winning the Belmar Beach Talent Contest, wearing just their bikinis!

The Story...
It's the dawn of the new millennium and The Bikinis are getting back together. That girl group from the sixties that everyone loves is bringing back the sun, fun and all the great songs they sang down on the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore...all to raise money for good folks at Sandy Shores Mobile Home Beach Resort on Florida's Gold Coast.

In front of a live audience, The Bikinis, or "The Jersey Girls," relive their heyday and beyond, beginning with the summer of 1964, the night these four inseparable girls got their name, winning the Belmar Beach Talent Contest, wearing nothing but their bikinis! The boardwalk was smitten with the 4 teens...Jodi and Annie, two sisters from Passaic New Jersey; Karla, their slightly manipulative cousin from Philly; and best friend Barbara, from Staten Island.

After their big win at the talent contest, there was only one way to go...to the top!
The Bikinis vowed then and there they'd raise enough money to make their own 45 so they could perform on American Bandstand and become as popular as their idols, The Shangri Las!

As our country was coming of age, so were The Bikinis. They take us on a musical journey from the innocents of the 50's, to the pop, psychedelic and war protest worlds of the 60's, from the women's rights movement to the outrageous disco era of the 70's.

Before their last song, entitled "Sandy Shores", The Bikinis resolve their differences from the past and take pride in the being that "one-hit-wonder" from the Jersey Shore. Just as they did in the summer of 1964, they vow to never stop singing together, reminding themselves that friendship is more important than anything life can throw their way. For the finale, they go for it...and strut their stuff...in their bikinis!

The Bikinis is a coming of age story about four women who are coming of age, giving us a chance to look at how we deal with our expectations of life and the acceptance of what our lives have become.

The Songs...

"It's In His Kiss"
"Yellow Polka Dot Bikini"
"Heat Wave"
"Mambo Italiano"
"Pennsylvania Polka"
"Under The Boardwalk"
"These Boots Are Made For Walkin"
"Ain't No Mountain High Enough"
"Incense And Peppermint"
"Look What They've Done To My Song, Ma"
"When Will I Be Loved"
"I'm Every Woman"
"I Will Survive"
"It's Raining Men"
and many more!
THE BIKINIS is a non-stop celebration of song filled with hits.
